ABOUT HUMAN RITES
We built the thing
we wished existed
when we needed it most.
Human Rites was born from lived experience — from the personal journeys of its founders through healing, parenthood, and the search for something more intentional than what modern culture offers. It grew into a mission: to restore the ancient practice of rites of passage for everyone.
From personal journey
to collective mission.
After years of personal healing and self-development, raising children in today's world, and exploring their own masculine and feminine journeys — the founders of Human Rites felt called to something bigger.
That calling led them to the world of rites of passage and initiation. And what they found there changed everything. They saw how profoundly these processes — when held well — transform individuals, families, and communities.
In a world where many people are struggling with identity, connection, and mental health, they realised that rites of passage aren't an optional extra. They are essential. And they built Human Rites to make them accessible.
An initiation marks the beginning of your transformation — being witnessed and supported as you embark on the next phase of your journey.

ALLISTER LOGAN
Co-Founder & Lead Facilitator
Forge, Men's Work, Coaching & Corporate.
I didn't arrive here through a straight line. I spent twelve years in corporate financial services — National Sales Manager at CommSec — learning how to get the best out of people, and slowly realising that most of what made that work had nothing to do with markets. It was emotional intelligence, honest conversation, and the willingness to go somewhere real together.
That curiosity took me through a decade of my own deep work: kinesiology, transpersonal coaching, men's circles and initiatory experiences with Mankind Project and Sacred Sons, and eventually training with the Rites of Passage Institute. I completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Coaching Psychology at Middlesex University UK to become a transpersonal coach. I've facilitated emotional intelligence programs for executive teams, pioneered gender equity initiatives in the Australian stockbroking industry, and served as an indigenous business consultant across multiple industries— work that deepened my understanding of what it means to be in right relationship with country and with community.
I run the masculine initiations for Human Rites — Forge for young men, Fire Circle for the men of our community — and bring the same rites of passage framework into corporate and team settings. My own journey of reconnecting to Australian Indigenous culture and the old ways of custodianship informs everything I do. I believe that when men are initiated properly — challenged, witnessed, and sent forward with purpose — the whole community benefits.

Bloom, Women's Work & Family Programs
My first career was my body. I spent years as a professional netball player until injury brought that chapter to a close — and opened the door to everything that followed. I built and sold a successful HR business, then retrained as a doula and spent ten years holding space for families at one of the most raw and significant thresholds a woman will ever cross. I also founded and sold Meals 4 Mumma's, a food business built around nourishing new mothers in those early, vulnerable weeks. Somewhere in all of that, I discovered that what I was really drawn to was the threshold itself — the moments of change, of becoming, of something being left behind and something new stepping forward.
Training with the Rites of Passage Institute gave that instinct a language and a structure. I hold the feminine initiations for Human Rites — Bloom for young women, and our women's community gatherings — bringing a decade of birth work, a deep understanding of female embodiment, and a genuine belief that girls who are properly witnessed in their becoming carry something for life.
OUR STORY
We didn't find this work.
It found us, one threshold at a time.
At the end of 2024 we sold everything, packed up our family of five, and drove around Australia with no fixed plan.
We followed our intuition, connected with Aboriginal communities across the country, and found — in the space of not knowing — a clarity about who we are and what we're here to do.
It was equal parts hard and beautiful. It deepened our relationship with each other, with our children, and with this land. It's the reason Human Rites exists in the form it does today.
We believe that families who do a little of this work — who find a shared language for their values, who mark the passages of their children's lives with intention — carry something forward that no school curriculum or self-help book can give them. That's what we're building. We'd love for your family to feel just a little more of it too.

WHAT WE BELIEVE
The beliefs that shape
every program we run.
These beliefs live in every detail of what we do across circles, ceremony and conversations. They are the foundation of Human Rites and our shared responsibility towards a world of genuine human connection.
Transition is sacred
Every significant change in a person's life deserves to be marked, witnessed, and held with intention — not rushed past or ignored.
Community heals
We don't transform in isolation. We transform in the presence of others who witness us, challenge us, and hold us accountable.
Ancient wisdom matters
The traditions that have guided human beings through transitions for millennia contain real intelligence — intelligence our culture urgently needs to reclaim.
Depth over surface
We are not interested in quick fixes or feel-good workshops. We are interested in real, lasting change — the kind that takes roots.
Safety as foundation
Challenge and growth are only possible when people feel genuinely safe. Every Human Rites program is trauma-informed and carefully held.
Everyone belongs
Our programs are inclusive of all backgrounds, cultures, and life circumstances. Rites of passage are a human birthright — not a privilege.
OUR APPROACH
How we work.
Every Human Rites program blends ancient initiation wisdom with the most effective tools of modern practice. Nothing we do is arbitrary — every element is chosen because it works.
01 Rites of passage framework
All our programs are structured around the universal three-phase initiation arc: separation, threshold, and integration. This ancient architecture works because it mirrors how human beings actually change.
"We don't create the change. We build the container — and get out of the way."
— Human Rites
02 Trauma-informed facilitation
Safety is the precondition for growth. Every facilitator is trained in trauma-aware practice — creating containers where people can go deep without being retraumatised.
Every program we run is built on the same belief: that human beings already know how to transform. They just need the right conditions, the right challenge, and someone to witness what happens next.
03 Somatic & embodied practice
Real transformation happens in the body, not just the mind. Our programs integrate breathwork, movement, and embodiment practices that help people access wisdom below the neck.
04 Community & witnessed change
Every Human Rites experience happens in community. Being witnessed by others — genuinely seen and acknowledged — is one of the most powerful catalysts for lasting change.
05 Integration & real life
The experience is only the beginning. Every program includes integration practices — tools and rituals to carry the change into daily life, relationships, and purpose.

"An initiation marks the beginning of your transformation, being witnessed and supported as you embark on the next phase of your journey".
